Welcome to Harmon e-Learning, where student-centered engagement, research-based strategies, and carefully aligned instruction all harmonize to yield optimal outcomes with minimal expenditures.

I'm Jennifer Harmon, an instructional designer with a passion for teaching and learning. My unique background incorporates educational institutions in the public and private sectors, at levels from secondary to graduate school, in roles spanning teaching, mentoring, administrative services and budgeting, and material design.

Currently a student in UNC Wilmington’s graduate school, I am working toward Instructional Technology certification to further expand my toolkit as an instructional designer. This renewed experience of balancing full-time employment with online classes also gives me rare perspective by providing insights into the needs of the nontraditional students for whom instructional units are now designed. Not only am I acquiring the most cutting-edge tools to facilitate instruction, but I am gathering firsthand insights about how to engage the attention of the busy working professionals who constitute today’s digital student bodies.

Wielding my experiences in the public-school classroom, in administrative roles within a private graduate school, and now as a burgeoning instructional designer, I strive for excellence by partnering with professional educators to provide exceptional learning experiences.

Use the portfolio page to explore my projects, and learn more about the values that I harmonize in my work: fostering student-centered engagement, leveraging research-based strategies, and aligning instruction to learning targets.
